The scholarship is highly competitive and seeks to identify and support individuals who have the potential to become leaders in their fields and to make a positive impact in the world.

• Gates Cambridge Scholarship: This program provides fully-funded graduate study at the University of Cambridge for students from around the world. The scholarship is highly competitive and seeks to identify and support individuals who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and the potential to make a significant contribution to their field.

• DoD Computational Science Graduate Fellowship: Established in 1991, the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields that use high-performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.
  
• DoD SMART Scholarship Program: The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program, funded by the Department of Defense (DoD), is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for STEM students.
  
• National Science Foundation Graduate Research Scholarship Program: The purpose of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is to ensure the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. GRFP seeks to broaden participation in science and engineering of underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support inclusive of an annual stipend of $37,000.
