Her interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion began during her fall semester of 2018 when she had the opportunity to take a course on Inequality Studies. Growing up in New York City, Mia was also exposed to diverse ethnic populations and observing firsthand the impacts of social and racial inequality. Inspired by this course, Mia interned with the New York City Department of Social Services, the U.S. Department of State, and Pfizer to learn how strategic structural policies can make large-scale impacts on individuals in the workplace. This summer, she is looking forward to continuing her work as the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Intern at Nasdaq.

Mia aspires to pursue a career in the legal field as a diversity, equity, and inclusion leader. She is passionate about combining her academic background in Inequality Studies with workplace diversity to focus on promoting positive cultures that enable individuals to feel empowered and unlock their fullest potential.

In her free time, Mia enjoys watching Korean cinema and thrillers, cooking from scratch, and taking road trips
