1월 21일 레이크 포레스트. 재미한인과학기술자협회(KSEA) 남가주 지부장을 지낸 고인은 UC샌디에고에서 물리학 박사학위를 취득, 보잉사에서 책임연구원으로 30년 근무했다. 고인은 천체물리학의 빅뱅우 주론과 구약성경의 창세기의 공존 가능성을 주장해 화제를 모으기도했다. 저서로 ‘현대과학이 보는 우주’ 등이 있다.

12월 19일 타계. 경기여고를 졸업, 음대 성악과에 입학한 고인은 뉴잉글랜드 음악원에 유학, 석사학위를 취득했다. 남가주 음대회장을 지내는 등 동창회 발전에 공이 컸다. 유족은 2남2녀.
