Over weekend, Ms. Janette Suh Edelstein (서 금 영) informed KSEA, the sad news that the 19th KSEA President Dr. Chai Chin Suh has passed away.
We have been in communication with Ms. Janette Suh Edelstein regarding the memorial service, which is scheduled for sometime in September or October.
Janette also informed us that Mrs. Youngsun Suh had been hospitalized due to illness since February of 2023 and Mrs. Suh would be grateful for the presence and support of KSEA at his memorial. Both of them were so passionate and proud of their time and engagement with KSEA over the years. As you may know, Mrs. Suh also attended Seoul National University Engineering school. They were both incredibly proud of their accomplishments for KSEA.
The memorial service will be held as follows.
Date: September 9, Saturday at 11:00 am US EDT (visitation begins at 10:15 am).
Location: Park Road Presbyterian Church, 1045 N. Park Rd, Wyomissing, PA 19610

In honor of Dr. Chai Chin Suh, the 19th President of KSEA, Dr. Suh’s family is trying to raise funds to create a scholarship in memoriam. Contributions will be used to fund an academic scholarship through the Korean-American Scientists And Engineers Association (KSEA) to support a student pursuing studies in a STEM field. Dr. Suh’s family wishes to create a fund to be established in perpetuity.

Dr. Chai Chin Suh, 95, of Wyomissing, passed away after a brief hospitalization at Reading Hospital on Friday, August 11, 2023, with his loving family at his bedside. This was his first hospitalization. He was the cherished husband of Youngsun Suh, to whom he was married for over 65 years.
A memorial service for Dr. Chai Chin Suh will be held on September 9th at Park Road Presbyterian Church, 1045 N. Park Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610 at 11:00 am (10:15 am visitation). Dr. Suh’s family welcomes any KSEA members to attend the memorial service on September 9th.
