🌟 Vision

“To empower Seoul National University’s ascent as a premier global institution while fostering a thriving, supportive, and prestigious community for its alumni in the United States.”

🚀 Mission

Our mission is to bridge the Gwanak campus with the United States by:

  • Advancing the Welfare of our members through professional resources, social support, and life-stage benefits.
  • Cultivating a powerful, lifelong professional and social network for all SNU alumni in the U.S.
  • Mobilizing strategic financial resources and intellectual capital to support SNU’s global excellence.
  • Promoting the prestige and heritage of Seoul National University within the American landscape.

⚙️ Operational Strategy

To achieve the mission, SNUAA-USA will focus on four key strategic pillars:

1. Philanthropic Excellence (The Global Fund)

  • Strategic Giving: Establish “Project-Specific” fundraising (e.g., Global Research Chairs or STEM Labs) that directly impacts SNU’s international rankings.
  • Donor Stewardship: Modernize the 170(c) donation process, providing transparent reporting on how U.S. contributions are transforming the alma mater.

2. Member Welfare & Solidarity (The “SNU Family” Care)

  • Life-Stage Support: Establishing regional support groups for alumni navigating major life transitions (relocation to the U.S., retirement planning, or family care).
  • Life-Long Learning: Online forums and clubs in areas such as science, technology, literature, AI, etc.
  • Alumni Benefits: Negotiating group benefits for members (e.g., insurance discounts, access to exclusive venues, or professional certification resources).
  • Benevolence Fund: Creating a small, internal “Emergency Circle” or scholarship fund specifically for the children of U.S.-based alumni in need.

3. The “Gwanak-USA” Mentorship Pipeline

  • Career Growth: Create a formal mentorship platform connecting seasoned U.S. executives/professors with younger alumni and visiting scholars.
  • Resource Hub: Provide “Soft Landing” support for SNU graduates arriving in the U.S. for advanced degrees or professional placement.

4. Digital & Regional Connectivity

  • Unified Digital Platform: Implement a centralized database and mobile-friendly portal to connect disparate regional chapters (NY, LA, Chicago, etc.).
  • Flagship Events: Host an annual National Symposium featuring SNU leadership and prominent alumni to discuss global trends and university progress.

5. Brand & Advocacy

  • Strategic Partnerships: Facilitate collaborations between SNU and top-tier U.S. universities or research institutes.
  • Institutional Prestige: Launch a high-production communication campaign showcasing the achievements of U.S.-based alumni to build “Brand SNU” in the West.
