2025년 SNUAA-WA 장학생 발표

워싱턴 서울대학교 동창회(SNUAA-WA)는 2025년 장학금 수혜자를 다음과 같이 발표합니다. 올해는 총 5명의 우수한 학생들이 선발되었으며, 이 중 2명은 워싱턴대학교 한국학과의 추천을 받아 선정되었습니다.

이번 장학생 선발은 학업 성취도, 자기소개 에세이, 과외 및 봉사 활동, 그리고 재정적 필요성 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 이루어졌습니다.

수상자 명단은 다음과 같습니다(특정 순서 없음)

장학금 수여식은 아래와 같이 다음달 연례 야유회 행사 중에 진행될 예정입니다:

📍 장소: 뉴캐슬 비치 공원, 벨뷰, 워싱턴주

선정된 장학생들에게 다시 한번 축하를 전하며, 동창회와 지역 사회 여러분들과 함께 이들의 노력과 장래에 힘찬 성원을 보냅니다.

SNUAA-WA Announces 2025 Scholarship Recipients

The Seoul National University Alumni Association of Washington (SNUAA-WA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 SNUAA-WA Scholarship. This year, five outstanding students, including two recommended by the Department of Korean Studies at the University of Washington, were selected.

The scholarship recipients were chosen based on their academic achievements, personal essays, extracurricular and community service activities, and financial need.

We are proud to recognize the following students:

• Sonita Chen, UW, Neuroscience, class 29
• Daniel Lee, UW, Biochemistry, class 29
• Hayeon Lee, UW, Business Administration in Information Systems, class 26
• Joon Park, UW, Architecture, class, recommended by UW Korean Study
• John Daniel, UW, Master in Korean Study

The scholarship awards will be presented during our Annual Picnic and Scholarship Ceremony:

서울대학교 워싱턴동창회 장학금 신청공고

서울대 워싱턴주 동창회는 워싱턴주에 거주하는 한인 자녀를 포함한 미래세대들이 학업에 더욱 정진하여 그들이 꿈꾸는 미래에 훌륭한 세계의 주역, 글로벌 리더가 될수 있도록 소정의 장학금을 지원함으로써, 그들을 격려하고 장려하는 것을 목적으로 2025 년도 장학생을 모집합니다.

1. Scholarship (장학금)
   • Five (5) awards of $US 1,000 each for 2025
   • The scholarships include two (2) special applicants who major in Korean Studies at the
     University of Washington in Seattle (장학금 신청자는 대학(원) 등록학생이어야하며, 일반 지원자외에 UW 에서 한국학을 전공하는 특별 지원자 2 명을 포함한다).
     
2. Eligibility (지원자격)
   • U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents in Washington State (워싱턴주 거주 미국시민 또는 영주권자).
   • Enrolled at a 4-year College or University Undergraduate or Graduate School (4 년제 대학(원)등록 학생).
   • Senior High School students who were admitted to and enrolled at a 4-year College or University are included (고등학교 졸업예정자로서 4년제 대학에 입학허가를 받고 등록한 학생을 포함한다).
   • Previous awardees are ineligible (장학금수혜는 1 회로 제한한다).

4. Selection Criteria (선정기준)
   • Primarily, based on the financial need among academic excellence (학업성적이 뛰어나지만 가정 형편이 어려운 학생들을 주 대상으로 한다).
   • Secondly, in addition to academic excellence, outstanding talent and special achievements in leadership, sports, music, or art can be considered as complementary criteria (학업성적외에도 리더십, 운동, 음악, 미술등 특정 분야에서의 뛰어난 재능과 업적도 부차적으로 선정기준에 포함할 수 있다).
     
5. Selection Schedule (선정일정)
   • Post on the SNUAA-WA Website (https://snuaa.org/washington-chapter/) and local Newspapers (March-May), review (June), interview (July), and announce (August) awards (매년 4월에서 5월까지 서울대 미주동창회 website 와 지역언론에 공고, 6월에 서류심사 완료, 7월에 인터뷰로 최종선정 및 발표, 8월에 수상).
     
6. Award Ceremony (장학금수여)
   • Award Ceremony will be held at the Summer Meeting in August (최종 선정된 장학생은 8월 하계모임에 초청하여 장학금을 수여).
     
7. How to apply (지원방법)
   • Online: You can download SNUAA-WA Scholarship Application Form 2025, and submit the completed form along with a transcript at the same website (서울대 미주동창회 워싱턴 지부 website 에서 지원서를 다운로드 받아서 작성한다음, 성적증명서와 함께 아래 이메일로 접수).
