Funding for Students Facing Financial Barriers

I’m following up on my earlier note about the Last Mile Education Fund. As the semester picks up, unexpected expenses can pile up for students, and we’d love your help in sharing these resources with them.

Last Mile exists to help tech, engineering, math and computing students cross the finish line to graduation. We provide fast, flexible awards for students facing unexpected financial barriers, covering everything from tuition gaps to groceries, transportation, childcare, and other essential needs that traditional scholarships often overlook.

Who qualifies:

• Juniors and seniors within four semesters of completing a bachelor’s degree
• Majoring in tech, engineering, math, or computing fields
• Facing financial challenges after exhausting financial aid or other resources
• Attending a U.S. institution and residing in the U.S.

Students can apply directly at lastmile-ed.org/apply.

How you can help: Even a simple mention can connect students to critical resources. Effective outreach strategies include:

• Adding Last Mile information to department newsletters or course syllabi
• Sharing the opportunity via your school’s scholarship portal
• Posting flyers in classrooms or high-traffic areas
• Forwarding this email to eligible students
