2026 Sejong International Sijo Competition (9/30/2026)

• Learn about sijo and read the sijo reference guide
• Read sample sijo
• Visit the Sejong Cultural Society YouTube channel for lectures and classes on writing sijo

SUBMIT:

• Submit your poem through our online submission page.
• Entries must be written in English.
• Only one entry per participant is permitted.
• Submitted sijo must be original and unpublished. Previously published or prize-winning sijo in any form, whether in print or online, are not eligible.
• Submission deadline: September 30, 2026

PRIZES:

Winning poems may be published in The Korea Times Chicago.

• First Prize: $500 USD
• Runner-up: $250 USD
