Dear KSEA Former Presidents, Former Speakers and Chapter Presidents,
Beginning in June, the Senior Forum Organizing Committee will assume full responsibility for preparing and distributing Senior Forum announcements.
We believe that the transition in this process, which began in April, may have contributed to a decline in attendance. We encourage your continued participation and welcome your guidance and support as we work together to keep the Forum vibrant and successful.
A special request to our Chapter Presidents: The Senior Forum is open to all members. We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing the Forum announcements with your chapter members and encouraging their participation. Your support is essential in helping us maintain a strong and engaging Forum community. Thank you for your continued leadership and support.
As a reminder, the Senior Forum is held on the last Thursday of each month.
An Astronomical Explanation of 21st-Century Global Warming:
A Macroscopic Perspective
At the June 25, 2026 Salient Senior Forum, Dr. InHwan Oh will address a fascinating topic on Global Warming. Dr. Oh will examine 21st-century global warming within the broader context of Earth’s long-term climate history. It explores both human influences on climate and natural factors, including Milankovitch cycles driven by variations in Earth’s orbit. Drawing on evidence from Antarctic ice cores that record eight glacial–interglacial cycles over the past 800,000 years, the presentation highlights how astronomical forces have shaped climate over geological timescales and discuss their relationship to contemporary climate change.
